Dear Members,
I'm writing on behalf of the Supervisory Board to share an important update about senior leadership at the Joint Impact Model.
After years of dedicated service to the JIM, Executive Director Alex MacGillivray, Managing Director Giulia Debernardini, and Technical Director Aneese Lelijveld will be stepping down from their roles. Under their dedicated leadership and technical expertise, the JIM has grown into the premier impact-modeling infrastructure that financial institutions around the world rely on to disclose portfolio greenhouse gas emissions, economic value added, and jobs supported in emerging markets. On behalf of the Board and the JIM’s membership, I want to thank Alex, Giulia, and Aneese for their vision, rigor, and care, and for everything they have built. In many ways they are the “founders” of JIM, as their passion and dedication turned an idea, into an impact model and finally into the organization that JIM is today. Please join me in thanking Alex, Giulia and Aneese for their leadership and best wishes in their continued impact endeavours.
I am also thrilled to introduce the two leaders who will guide JIM into its next chapter. After an extensive executive search we are pleased to present Courtney Roberts and Florian Habermacher as the new Management Board for the Joint Impact Model Foundation.
Courtney S. Roberts joins the JIM as its new Executive Director. Courtney is an entrepreneurial leader with more than 25 years of experience in impact measurement and management, sustainable finance, and private sector development As the Founder and CEO of Moonshot Global, LLC, Courtney shaped flagship international development initiatives including USAID's Development Innovation Ventures and Grand Challenges for Development, and a range of blended finance and outcomes-based financing programs. She previously spent a decade at the World Bank Group–including with IFC and MIGA– and was an Adjunct Professor at American University's Graduate School of International Service for nine years.
Florian Habermacher joins the JIM as its new Technical Director. Florian is a PhD economist with academic appointments at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and the University of Lausanne, and he consults for international financial institutions regularly on infrastructure financing and economic assessments, particularly in developing countries. He has previously led teams building large computational energy models. He holds a PhD in economics and finance from the University of St. Gallen and a degree in environmental engineering from EPFL, with research spanning climate, environmental, and resource economics.
The Board and I are confident that Courtney and Florian will build on the foundation Alex, Giulia, and Aneese leave behind, and we look forward to introducing them to you directly in the coming weeks, including during our upcoming Quarterly Members Meeting on 23 June at 15:00 CET. Please join me in welcoming Courtney and Florian to the JIM.
With warm regards,
Nicole Pasricha
Chair, Supervisory Board Joint Impact Model
